So Nile have announced a UK tour with German thrash heavyweights Dew-Scented & the rather magical, Israeli black metal sensation Melechesh among others. Unfortunately someone neglected to book a fucking Scottish date. Well, either that or Karl Sanders hates deep-fried 11 string guitars. Either way, we are fucking gutted because this has all the makings of a legendary evening.
Now here is a piece of news I never thought I’d be writing about. Drummer, founding member & leader, Mike Portnoy has part ways with his band of 25 years Dream Theater. Having asked the band for a break, they made the decision to carry on without him. The momentum they have built up in the last few years is impressive & they are now one of the biggest progressive rock acts in the world so it is understandable but it’s hard to imagine them without Portnoy’s silly beard & superhuman drumming ability. Let me be the first to say “FUCK YOU, AVENGED SEVENFOLD! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!”.
